While cataracts commonly afflict older adults, when younger people develop a cataract, it's usually due to trauma to the head or eye.

A man in India found this out the hard way after taking a punch to the left side of his face.

Two days after the fight, the man sought medical help when his vision in his left eye worsened and was diagnosed with a rosette cataract. These rare types of cataracts are so named because of the star-like or flower-like appearance.

Doctors were able to operate on the man's cataract and remove it and replace his lens with a new one. The man's vision in his left eye was back to 20/20 a week later.
