I have been taking this product for some time now, but can't really comment on how good they are. I feel it is a good product for the health of the eyes, but to be honest, I have seen no change in my vision. Maybe my eyes are just getting healthier, but I have no way of knowing that. I will continue to take because I do feel it is a great product.
My eye doctor said I should continue us it . I been on it for 4 months now.
I think it would be better if the VisiVite containers were filled with at least 60 capsules. We have enough waste plastic to dispose of. My 7 bottles fit into 3 bottles. I hope the VisiVite capsules are helping me. Dr Krawitz does not say much during my examinations. Raymond Sala
What is the goal of taking so much lutein? Are there studies indicating that this is beneficial? Could you elaborate? Thanks.
There are no macular degeneration studies of these high lutein doses. However, the FDA has granted lutein levels of up to 150 mg daily as "Generally Regarded as Safe" also known as GRAS. Of note, a cup full of boiled kale contains approximately 44 mg, so these doses can be obtained by vegetable ingestion if you preferred. Lutein and Zeaxanthin improve retinal pigmentation and visual function, including blue light glare.
is it possible to overdose on lutein ? 44mg seems like a lot
There is 44 mg of lutein per cup of cooked kale.
Would it be better to take this instead of the Gold ARED2?
No, definitely not. Super Lutein 444 can be taken with your AREDS 2 formula, but NEVER instead of your AREDS 2 formula.
