Been using the ProDHA 1000 for 14 years and my macular degeneration has not progressed.
Is this product molecularly distilled to insure no hazardous chemicals?
Nordic Naturals' manufacturing processes enable them to deliver industry–leading freshness and purity levels. They use several steps in processing their oils, from water and clay filters to molecular distillation, with no chemicals or excessive heat, all while preserving the natural constituents of the oil to the highest degree possible. A purification process removes any potential environmental toxins (heavy metals, dioxins, PCBs, etc.), saturated fats, and other undesirable organic compounds, leaving only the beneficial components of the fish oil (omegas 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, etc.). They also utilize a proprietary nitrogen (oxygen–free) environment to achieve their leading freshness levels, and to further reduce heat requirements, thereby maintaining the integrity of the oils. Moreover, they use only natural enzymes to form triglycerides for all their high–concentrate products, and all their oils are manufactured in triglyceride form in order to best preserve the oil and enhance absorption and utilization.
I recently went to my eye doctor and was told the fish oil I needed needs to say "re-esterfied Triglyceride Form" on it or it doesn't absorb properly. Is this something new in research? I have dry eye issues and she wants me to take XXX brand and wondering if I have to pay that much to get the same benefit. is your fish oil comparable? Thank you
Omega 3s in fish have three tails, and are therefore called TRIGLYERIDE forms. During processing, omega 3s lose the two tails and have only one tail. High quality manufacturers, including VisiVite, "re-esterify" the omega 3s so that they have three tails for improved absorption and efficacy. The three omega 3s sold on VisiVIte.com all are triglyeride reesterified omega 3s, including Nordic Naturals ProDHA 1000 (primarily for macular and brain support), as well as VisiVIte's two dry eye formulas: VisiVite Dry Eye Relief TG-1000 and VisiVite Quench TG-1000 (TG stands for triglyceride).
