How do I find the right eye vitamin formula for me?

For macular degeneration supplements, there are three questions that will guide your eye vitamin choice:

1. Do you smoke now or have you smoked habitually within the past 20 years. If you are a non-smoker, visit http://www.visivite.com/amd-non-smoker.html. If you are a smoker or former smoker, visit http://www.visivite.com/amd-smoker.html.
2. Do you have wet macular degeneration in one eye, or is your macular degeneration progressive? If either one of these is yes, we recommend one of our Premium VisiVite Eye Vitamin Formulas.
3. Do you take Coumadin (warfarin)? If so, we recommend that you take VisiVite E-Free Formula.

I have a family member with macular degeneration. What do you recommend I take?

For several years, doctors have incorrectly informed their patients that macular degeneration is sporadic and not genetic. But the human genome project and new research indicates that up to 75% of macular degeneration can be explained by various genetic vulnerabilities. Additionally, Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to prevent the development of macular degeneration in healthy eyes. Therefore, we now recommend that people with high risk family histories take VisiVite Premier Ocular Formula No. 2. This supplement contains both high dose antioxidants and pharmaceutical grade omega-3 fish oils, and is safe for both smokers and non-smokers.

Where do you obtain your ingredients?

All of our vitamin supplement ingredients are U.S. based and naturally sourced whenever possible. Independent laboratory testing for purity and potency is performed on every single manufacturing lot. The VisiVite manufacturing facility is GMP Certified and meets the strictest international criteria for hygiene and security.

What are your shipping fees?

Shipping within the United States is by United States Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. UPS Ground is also available for those addresses that do not receive U.S. Mail. Shipping fees are posted on our shipping information page.

I have difficulty swallowing. Do you sell any vitamin liquids?

Although we do not sell liquid versions of our supplements at this time, the following formulas are supplied in capsules that can be opened and their contents emptied into a beverage or sprinkled on food:

How large are the pills?

• VisiVite Original Formula, VisiVite Smokers Formula and all VisiVite i-Defense Formulas are size 00 capsules. These are moderate-sized, elongated and round-ended.
• VisiVite Premier Ocular Formula No. 2 and Dry Eye Relief Tear Stabilization Capsules are moderately large liquigels. Unlike the capsule formulas listed above, these cannot be opened.
• Co-Defense is a moderately large, oval tablet. Co-Defense Mini-Tablets are moderately small round tablets.

How many pills are in each bottle?

• All VisiVite Formulas contain a one-month supply. VisiVite Original AREDS Formula, VisiVite Smokers Formula and all VisiVite i-Defense Formulas contain 60 capsules and are taken one capsule twice daily. VisiVite Premier Ocular Formula No. 2 contains 120 gelcaps and are taken two gelcaps twice daily.
• Dry Eye Relief contains a one-month supply, which is 120 gelcaps. Directions are two capsules taken twice daily.
• Co-Defense Multivitamin formulas contain a three-month supply. Co-Defense Tablets contain 100 oval tablets are are taken one tablet daily. Co-Defense Mini-tablets contain 200 round tablets and are taken two tablets daily.

What are the costs for international shipments?

International customers frequently request that shipments of VisiVite be made by Parcel Post to save on costs. Unfortunately, customs offices frequently reject the import of nutritional supplements when sent in this way. Therefore, we have had to institute FedEx delivery for all international deliveries, including Canada. You may estimate shipping costs by visiting our Shipping Information Page. Prior to completing your order, on the Shipping and Billing checkout page, click the UPDATE CART TOTAL button below the shipping method, and your cart will show the actual shipping costs prior to your completing your order. Most international customers order six or more bottles of vitamins to defray shipping charges.

Why don't you sell your vitamins in stores?

Mass-marketed vitamins that are sold in pharmacies, grocery stores and discount chains are confusing to shoppers and often contain lesser quality ingredients in quantities that are not effective against eye diseases such as macular degeneration and dry eye syndrome. VisiVite.Com sells only direct to consumer, via participating eye care professional offices and in select nutritional specialty stores. I take a multivitamin every day. Isn't that good enough?

Beginning with the National Eye Institutes Age Related Eye Disease Study in 2001, which was the first research showing the benefit of nutritional supplements in the treatment of macular degeneration, three points were proven:

1. Only specific ingredients had benefit against eye disease.
2. Scientific research, rather than hundreds of opinions in the lay press, should dictate the optimal ingredients and dosages of eye vitamins.
3. Extremely high levels of these ingredients were necessary to have an effect against eye disease.

Inexpensive mass-marketed multivitamins contain many ingredients but have no proven benefit against the progression of macular degeneration or the treatment of dry eye syndrome.

How long will it take to get my vitamins?

You can avoid order delays by making sure to provide us with your correct billing and shipping address. The most common reasons for order delays are failing to enter the billing address on file with your credit card company.
