The beleaguered over-the-counter eye product market has been hit with yet another recall by the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall was issued due to a potential risk of infection because of a "lack of sterility assurance" at the manufacturing facility. The brand names of eye ointment products affected are Equate, CVS Health and AACE Pharmaceuticals. The expiration dates range from February 2024 to September 2025.

No adverse events related to the recalled products have been reported as of February 16, but in an abundance of caution, Brassica Pharma Pvt. Ltd. advised it's distributors and retailers to "cease distribution of the product" and is also asking consumers to quit using the affected products and return them to their point of purchase.
