More eye drops recalled by the FDA

The eye drops market has been hit yet again with potentially contaminated eye drops that can cause serious eye infections or even blindness.

Another recall has been issued by the FDA that now affects brands sold at CVS, Rite Aid and Target.

The eye drops market has been hit yet again with potentially contaminated eye drops that can cause serious eye infections or even blindness. Consumers are being warned to avoid more than two dozen eye drop products that are meant to treat dry or irritated eyes.  The recall was prompted when investigators found insanitary conditions in the manufacturer's facility along with positive bacterial test results from environmental sampling of crucial drug production areas in the facility.

While CVS, Rite Aid and Target are already removing the affected products from store shelves and websites, other products branded as Leader, Rugby and Velocity may still be available in stores and online. Consumers who have already purchased an affected product should contact the store from which it was purchased.

Please visit the FDA's website for more details regarding the recall.
